Why LeBron James Is A Piece of Garbage

“Now that I’ve won my championships with a GOOD team, I’ll come back to lead your sorry asses again!”

Whatever he says, that’s probably what he means. LeBron James may be thought of as a conquering hero who is returning home from The Crusades, but that is far from the truth. LeBron may argue that, deep down, he never wanted to leave Cleveland. If so, why leave in the first place?

Being the best of the best and a future Hall of Famer wasn’t good enough for him. LeBron James couldn’t stand to be the Dan Marino or Ernie Banks of his sport- the greatest player never to win the big one. He couldn’t stand to be, perhaps, the 5th-highest paid player in the NBA, despite being independently wealthy. All of that is what he would’ve been had he not taken his talents to South Beach.

That’s fine and dandy, but what King James has done now is even worse.

LeBron James will tell you that he loves Cleveland and always did love Cleveland. If you break it down to its lowest common denominator, what he did was the equivalent of cheating on his wife for four years. Plus, he’s now left his “mistress”, to whom he also pledged his undying love & devotion, and come slithering back to his wife. He’s a two-timing bastard who is insecure, immature and incapable of real commitment. You don’t come back from that and he should not be cheered for it.

What if David Wright were to leave the Mets to go play for the Yankees next year? What if he were to win a World Series and then come back “home” to Flushing after that? How would you feel if you were true to the orange and blue? Betrayed by a backstabber, perhaps? I wonder how Cavs fans are going to treat the king of all backstabbers.

I’m sure there have been a few franchise players who left in their prime and later returned. Tom Seaver comes to mind. Of course, he didn’t leave via free agency with a 30 minute Special Presentation on ESPN. If you’re going to go big, you have to stay big and stay GONE.

The Decision notwithstanding, LeBron didn’t exactly break new ground when he left for Miami. We may have shrugged, moaned, groaned, cried foul or screamed bloody murder because the spotlight was on him, but we’ve seen the likes of A-Rod and Albert Pujols take a king’s ransom all the way to the bank. Neither of them pined for their glory days in Seattle or St. Louis after the fact. They had the chance to be folk heroes in their respective cities and chose the more lucrative path instead.

King James wants to have his cake and eat it too. This is where he sets himself apart from his peers in the worst way.

Don’t feel sorry for LeBron when Miami burns him in effigy. Don’t feel sorry for him if he can’t win the big one in Cleveland. Don’t feel sorry for him if things turns ugly again with Cavs Owner Dan Gilbert. I don’t have a problem with the Cavaliers taking him back. They’ll sell tickets and probably make the playoffs again. I just hope both parties know that they’re not getting a “happily ever after” scenario.

If the Cavs win 30 games this year and James fights with his coach, he’ll probably want to leave again. If so, sadly, there will be a bunch of teams lining up to take a three-time backstabber. As usual for cheaters and those who take them back, they deserve each other.

What LeBron James doesn’t deserve is respect.
